PawnMaster after the Bravo acquisition: what your options are

What happened

On January 30, 2024 Bravo Store Systems announced it had acquired the assets of Data Age Business Systems, including PawnMaster Classic, PawnMaster Ignite, AdvanceMaster, CheckMaster, Buy/Sell Plus, TitleLoan, CrossPostIt, LiquorTraks POS, DigiShield and EForo. The announcement said Bravo “welcomes the users of these products as its newest customers” and planned a “smooth integration into Bravo’s operations and service offerings”. It gave no timeline for PawnMaster itself.

What Bravo’s transition page offers

Quoted from Bravo’s PawnMaster-to-Bravo transition guide, checked September 25, 2026:

• “We migrate all your critical data, customers, inventory, loans, and transaction history. Nothing gets left behind.”
• “No setup fees. No conversion charges. We handle the entire migration at no extra cost.”
• “Keep secure, read-only access to your PawnMaster system during and after migration.”
• Cutover is scheduled around store hours; the page gives no fixed timeline.
• The page names no end-of-life or sunset date for PawnMaster, and quotes no Bravo price. Bravo’s pawnbroker page lists a $99 a month starting price and says most stores run between $99 and $350 a month.

Three questions worth asking in writing before a cutover: how many years of closed sales history come across, how long the read-only PawnMaster access lasts, and what the export formats are once you are on Bravo.

The alternatives, and what they say about converting

PawnSmarts says on its site that it has done the PawnMaster conversion and charges $395 to convert customer data, with plans at $89 and $129 a month or a $2,995 one-time licence. Hi-Tech Pawn publishes monthly prices from $98.39 and offers the first 30 days free. Pawn Wizard PRO lists a $995 installation promotion plus a monthly support plan. PawnMate offers a 7-day trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee, with prices on request. Every published figure is in what pawn shop software costs, with its source.

The third option is to stay on PawnMaster while it runs. Bravo has not published an end date. That is not a promise it will run forever, which is exactly why the next section matters whichever way you go.

Before anything else: export and keep your history

Your closed sales are the most valuable thing in the system. They are what tell you what a DeWalt drill or a quarter-carat ring actually sells for in your shop, and how long it takes. A migration is where that history gets flattened to opening balances or left behind. Export it now, while you can, whatever you decide later.

• Sales and inventory reports for as many years as PawnMaster will give you, as Excel or CSV where it offers them, PDF where it does not.
• The general ledger export it produces for your accountant.
• Your police-reporting file (LeadsOnline or your state’s format), which carries every item you took in.
• A copy of the PawnMaster data folder itself, usually under C:\PawnMaster, and the DigiShield backup if you have one.
