What pawn shop software costs: the prices the vendors publish

Most pawn software pricing is “call for a quote”. A few vendors do publish numbers. Here they are as of September 25, 2026, quoted from each vendor’s own page, with what each figure includes and what it leaves out. Where a vendor publishes nothing, this page says so rather than guessing.

The short answer

Published monthly prices for a pawn point-of-sale run from about $69 to $350 a month for one store, depending on the system, the plan and the add-ons. Two vendors also sell a one-time licence, at $995 (Pawn Wizard PRO, an installation promotion that still needs a monthly support plan) and $2,995 (PawnSmarts Professional, no monthly fee). Conversion of your data from another system is free at Bravo and $395 at PawnSmarts.

Promotional prices are the vendor’s own words and can end at any time. Pawn Wizard’s page lists both a list price and a promotional price for each line; both are shown above.

What the monthly price does and does not include

Read the small print on stations, modules and support. The published figures above are for one store and, in most cases, one register. Pawn Wizard charges per additional station and per module (firearms, repairs, consignments). Hi-Tech prices by how many of its features you turn on. Bravo says most stores land between $99 and $350 depending on add-ons, which is a wide range: ask what the add-ons are for a shop like yours.

A one-time licence is not free forever. Pawn Wizard’s $995 “requires subscription to license maintenance/support plan”, in its words. PawnSmarts’ $2,995 outright purchase is described as the same software with no monthly fees; ask what updates and support cost after the first year.

The costs that are not on the price page

  • Conversion. Bravo’s PawnMaster transition page says setup and conversion are free. PawnSmarts charges $395 to convert customer data. Whatever the fee, ask exactly which tables come across: customers, loans and inventory usually do; years of closed sales history is the thing to ask about by name.
  • Your time. Training, re-labelling, and the weeks where tickets take twice as long. A vendor will not put a number on this; you can, from your payroll.
  • Hardware. Pawn Wizard lists label printers, scanners and a fingerprint reader as optional one-time purchases; cloud systems may want newer PCs than a 2012 counter machine.
  • Getting your data back out. Bravo’s pawnbroker page says your data is yours and that it exports in ten formats including .xlsx and .csv. Ask every vendor the same question before you sign, and ask for a sample export.

The one figure nobody publishes is what a wrong price at the counter costs. FirstCash reports a 42% gross margin on U.S. retail merchandise; a shop running well below that on a category is losing more each month than any of the subscriptions above. See pawn shop profit margins.

What analytics on top of your POS costs

PawnCounter is not a point of sale and does not replace one. It reads the reports your POS already exports and gives you markdown and sell-off lists, margin by category and buyer, and a counter offer calculator. The free Profit X-Ray is free; Starter is $79 a month and Pro is $149 a month, with the first 14 days of a paid plan free. See plans and pricing. Our stake in this page is obvious: we would rather you kept a POS that works and added the numbers than paid for a conversion.
