What PawnCounter adds

WinPawn keeps years of history in its own tables. PawnCounter reads those tables as they are, so there is no report to set up and nothing to convert: copy three files and upload them.

From them you get what WinPawn does not put on one screen: which items are priced above what they sell for, how much cash is tied up in aged stock, and margin by category and by the employee who wrote the ticket.

• A markdown list: items priced above what the same thing actually sold for in your shop, with a price that sold.
• A sell-off list: aged stock ranked by the cash it has tied up.
• Margin, sell-through and days to sale by category, brand and the buyer who wrote the ticket.
• Redemption and forfeiture by category, where your files carry loans.

What to send

• HISTORY.DBF — closed transactions, including what items sold for.
• MERCH.DBF — retail inventory on the floor.
• PAWN.DBF — active pawn loans.

How to find it

WinPawn keeps its data as Visual FoxPro tables (.DBF files) in its data folder, usually on the PC that acts as the server, shared to the other counters over the network.

Copy the three files above from that folder and upload them. Copy them rather than moving them: WinPawn must keep its originals.

The .CDX and .FPT files that sit beside them are not needed.

WinPawn's history table stores only a short category for each item, not the full make and model, so offer suggestions for WinPawn shops compare at category level for now.

Do not send VENDORS.DBF: it is your customer list and we do not need it.

Files and privacy

We accept .csv, .xml, .dbf or .txt, up to 50 MB per file.

Your files may include customer names, ID numbers, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers. Those fields are hashed before any analysis — we analyze items and dollars, never people. See the Privacy Policy.

PawnCounter only reads a copy of an export. It does not change anything in WinPawn and does not file police reports for you.
